We invite you to give a special gift to your sponsored child or an unsponsored child in our program. Your gifts will remind each child how much they are loved by you—and by God. All of the gifts in the Giving Catalog are purchased in Uganda and given to the designated child on your behalf. The shipping address is a default at check-out, but it will not be shipped to you.

When selecting Christmas gifts for your sponsored child, purchase online (or by mail) by December 20th. Orders received after December 20th will be given out as timely as possible, and remember that you can order gifts throughout the year.

FOOD PACKAGE

The emergency food box contains rice, beans, maize flour, oil, sugar, salt, and soap and will last about 2 weeks for an average family of 5. Please note, through home visits, we have identified those families in our communities that are mostly in need of food supplies and we will be distributed.

CLOTHES & UNDERWEAR

This will include the following items to give to the child: clothes, knickers, blouse, soap, washcloth, toothbrush, toothpaste, pack of underwear, pack of socks, t-shirt, skirts. We want to see all the children have proper personal hygiene and avoid the chances of them getting sick regularly.

SLEEPING KIT

Children on the streets and in impoverished homes sleep on dirty floors, in muddy homes. Those with mattresses have pieces that are unhealthy for a child to sleep on. They are susceptible to elements and creeping creatures carrying diseases. This kit has a mattress, net, bed sheets and a blanket.

BUNK BED

The bunk bed is space efficient for multiple children who would otherwise be sleeping on the dirt floor, providing a better night’s sleep for them. (Mattresses not included).

SCHOOL SHOES

Many of our children came to the shelter barefooted and some have never had a pair of school shoes and walk back and forth on the streets in the rain and heat. This leads to jiggers which wreak havoc on their little feet. You can provide a child with a sturdy pair of leather shoes and knee-high socks.

PIG

We give pigs to community women with the ability and interest to rear them in a bid to help them become self-sustainable. Each pig provides a valuable source of protein, income from the sale of offspring, and natural fertilizer to nourish crops and soil. Pigs need little land, to thrive on. We want to see families happy and able.

BICYCLE

We only recommended a bicycle for children aged twelve years and older. This is a great mode of fun,execrise. Many children have never used nor had bicycles before in their lives. The older children would use them for transportation to university or vocational training centres.

SEWING MACHINE

This is a gift of empowerment and income generation. We are gradually building up capacity of the few children from the shelter who took on the tailoring during the Lock-down. It can be gifted to a student or women.

This battery-operated radio is helpful for students to get the latest news, listen to education lessons, listen to music, and for setting an alarm and telling time which helps them get to school on time. (first set of batteries included).

LAPTOP

Kept at the shelters for all children to learn basic computing skills and are also used as educational resources to benefit everyone however for university students they have to have theirs on a daily basis. Many of our children are learning how to type and use different software.

COW

A dairy cow can provide several gallons of milk per day. The manure is a valuable source of nutrients for family plots of land to encourage growth and plant flowering. Dairy cows tend to birth just one calf at a time, but their offspring can be a great source of continued income or herd establishment over time. The children and caregivers also receive training on how to care for their cow.

GOAT

A dairy goat can supply a family with several quarts of nutritious milk a day. Extra milk can be sold, families learn to use goat manure to fertilize gardens, and because goats often have 2 or 3 kids a year, they can earn more income. The children and caregivers also receive training on how to care for their goat. There is hope restoration in seeing families succeed through sustainability.

REAMS.

Each school in Uganda requires every student to take a ream of papers. Some schools require two reams per term and others seek for one ream depending on the school requirement. Every single child takes a ream to school.
