OUR URGENT PROJECTS

CHILD SPONSORSHIP | EDUCATING TOMORROW’S NATION

Sponsorship changes lives.

From data to real-life stories, it’s clear that our sponsorship program gives children a meaningful opportunity to break the cycle of poverty and achieve their dreams.

At Save Sunshine Shelter Kids, we take a lifelong, holistic approach to education, addressing the unique needs of children at every stage early childhood, primary education, adolescence, and young adulthood. We are dedicated to supporting each child selected for a Save Sunshine Shelter Kids scholarship all the way through to graduation, ensuring they earn their diploma and step confidently into their future.

OUR APPEAL IS TO RAISE $8200

Many of our children are currently without sponsors, and keeping them in school each semester is a major challenge. To ensure that every child can attend school this term, we need to raise $8,200. We appeal to everyone who can help to contribute so that all our children have the opportunity to continue their education without interruption.

SUPPORT A TEEN MOTHER’S SHELTER + RESCUE

Briefly about the Teen mothers center.

The Teen Mothers Center, affectionately known as the “Cody Rescue Center for Teen Mothers,” was established in 2020 in Wakiso District, near Kampala City. The center serves girls aged 12 to 17, primarily rescued from child prostitution. Additional referrals come from Probation Offices and the Uganda Police across Kampala and Wakiso districts. The center is overseen by a dedicated social worker and has successfully rescued and rehabilitated 26 street girls, many of whom were victims of child prostitution, sex trafficking, and early pregnancies.

Women in Uganda are among the most marginalized and vulnerable, often abandoned, widowed, or affected by HIV and sex trafficking. Many live in fear that their children may soon join the growing ranks of orphans and teen mothers across Africa. We stand alongside our girls, helping them regain confidence, discover their inner strength, and pursue their dreams to build a brighter future.

OUR APPEAL IS TO RAISE $8000.

Through our life skills training program and residential care, the young women we lovingly call “treasures” learn valuable skills such as tailoring, making uniforms, cooking a variety of foods for sale, and receiving business start-up training. With these new abilities, they are empowered to earn an income, providing them with financial independence and support as they graduate from the Cody Rescue Center for Teen Mothers.

SUPPORT A TEEN MOTHER SHELTER

RESCUING | FEEDING | COUNSELING | SHELTERING A BOY

Since its founding in 2006, the Genesis Boys’ Transitional Shelter has provided a safe and supportive home for 72 boys, with 41 successfully reunited with their families. At the shelter, the boys take part in a variety of activities, including catch-up learning for school dropouts, counseling and psychosocial support, medical care, recreational programs, and age-appropriate income-generating projects that help sustain the shelter during long holidays. Two dedicated caretakers work tirelessly to rehabilitate the boys, guiding them toward a brighter future and helping them reunite with their biological, extended, or foster families while continuing support until they grow into the men God intends them to be.

At the shelter, the boys learn to live under structure and guidance, following rules and routines that contrast sharply with life on the streets. Our mission is to raise them with discipline, integrity, and confidence, empowering them to actively participate in shelter activities and equipping them with the skills to thrive in a challenging and ever-changing world

THE GOAL IS TO RAISE $7500

The ultimate goal is to equip these boys to become valued, responsible, and contributing members of their communities and the nation, through education, life skills, and mentorship. Currently, the shelter relies on monthly rent support to remain operational and continue rescuing and transforming the lives of these boys.

FEEDING | NOURISHES |TRANSFORMING LIVES

Every day, countless children living on the streets face extreme weather, danger, and social judgment. Many struggle to find even the most basic protections, with essentials like shelter and privacy often out of reach. The Street Kids Drop-In Center is more than just a building, it is a sanctuary where these vulnerable children can find safety, support, and the care they urgently need. Our mission is clear: to provide a space where they can heal, grow, and thrive away from the hazards of street life.

Currently, many of our programs are conducted outdoors, leaving children exposed to harsh sun, heavy rains, and other elements that disrupt their learning and care. The Drop-In Center will provide a permanent, secure space, allowing programs to run consistently and effectively. No child should have to choose between participating in vital activities and staying safe from the weather. With your support, they won’t have to.

For street children, privacy is a rare luxury. Whether it’s taking a shower, sharing personal struggles, or receiving emotional support, they need a safe and judgment-free environment. The Drop-In Center will provide a protected, private space where sensitive matters can be addressed—giving these children the dignity they deserve and the confidence to open up, receive guidance, and access the care that can transform their lives.

Our dedicated social workers face significant challenges running programs outdoors, where children often struggle to open up and receive full support. The Drop-In Center will provide not only physical shelter but also a safe space for emotional and psychological care, allowing our team to connect with the children more deeply and effectively.

Beyond safety and privacy, the center will offer room for recreation, learning, and sports activities that build life skills, confidence, and the simple joy of being a child. Free from the constraints of outdoor conditions, the children can fully engage in programs that empower their growth and transformation.
