Registration and Renewal Process

We are pleased to provide an update on Save Sunshine Shelter Kids’ registration and compliance status.

Following a comprehensive registration process involving multiple regulatory and oversight offices, four key registration areas have been fully approved, certified, and completed. These approvals represent important foundational milestones and strengthen Save Sunshine Shelter Kids’ administrative and legal standing.

In addition, all outstanding annual returns have been duly filed, reviewed, and certified following the submission and verification of the required organizational records, in line with statutory requirements.

Currently, two to three remaining registration and compliance areas are under review, and we are awaiting formal feedback from the relevant authority. Upon receipt of this feedback, Save Sunshine Shelter Kids will proceed to the next phase of compliance, including the shelter registration process under the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development. This process will be undertaken in accordance with the prescribed guidelines and procedures.

Save Sunshine Shelter Kids is fully registered as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in Uganda and is duly registered with the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB). The organization files its annual returns with URSB as required by law and has completed several registration and application processes with the relevant Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.

Save Sunshine Shelter Kids remains committed to full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and reporting obligations and continues to strengthen its institutional and governance frameworks.

2025 Annual returns and Impact reports we have submitted all our annual returns to the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB), as well as our Annual Impact Report and audited Financial Report to the NGO Bureau.

Filing the 18 files we are prepared to submit the required documentation to the various departmental offices responsible for children’s affairs, as requested. While this entails a substantial amount of paperwork, it reflects our commitment to transparency and reinforces our dedication to the programs of our organization as a whole.

Ministry of Gender and Labour we are currently working to gather all the necessary state information to register our shelters with the Ministry of Gender and Labour in order to obtain what is referred to as Shelter Approval. This process is complex and requires significant paperwork and financial resources. We are prepared to commence this process this year.
